More than ever before, our na- tion's future depends on the wis- dom and knowledge of you young men and women and millions like you. I would hope that you are not short-changing your education because the complex problems of the modern world demand trained minds and creative thinking on your part. Instead of advice on how to attain this education, I would like to ask each of you the following questions and I would hope you would be able to answer them now and as you move forward toward your goal in life. Whathas been the purpose of your education up to this point? Has it been to train you in good judgment. Has it been to develop a sense of re- sponsibility?
