Washington High School and Elysian Fields High School were combined for the first time, and despite the predictions of some, the students of both schools showed a remarkable spirit of co-operation, good will, and deter- mination to make this new situation work ---- and they have, It was not court orders or administrative directives that made this a good school year---it was the work of the students themselves.
