'CJ' 1 Q SOPHOMORE OFFICERS AND SPONSOR Judith Block Richard McAlpine Ruth Riks Mrs. Mann SCDPHCDMQRES We, the sophomores, being almost ready to pass on our name to our successors, the fresh- men, and inherit that cf our forerunners, the juniors, are very pleased with the future pros- pects, but it is with a certain feeling of regret that we look back on the things that we leave be- hind. Remember the highlight of our young but promising sophomore lives, the sophomore party, held at Camp Tenonetentwo? Remember the gym, completely transformed into an army camp, the demonstration of the efficient medical service provided at the camp, and the rendition of a ballet, given by sev- eral of our more talented male sophs? We chose Mr. Purvis and Mrs. Mann for our sponsors, but as Mr. Purvis was called to the service of his country. lVlrs. lVlann has carried on alone. lncidently, we sophomores think that we're the most loyal of the three classes. We elected Judith Bleek, president, Ruth Riks, vice-president, and Richard lVlcAlpine, secretary- a blonde and two red-heads, respectively, thus carrying out the school colors very nicely. This fact, however, was only a coincidence. We did not chose them to be our officers for that reason. We feel that as the underclassmen, we have not yet had a real opportunity to show our colors. We are looking forward to our junior year, when we are going to outdo ourselves and surpass our record as sophomores with an even better one as juniors. 29
