Presenting The Who ' s Who Of Elon College The 1980-81 edition of Who ' s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges carries the names of twenty-four Elon College students. Students in Who ' s Who are elec- ted by a committee composed of members of the faculty, administra- tion, and student body each year. Selection is made on the basis of scholarship, participation and leadership in academic and ex- tracurricular activities, citizenship and service to the College, and promise of future usefulness. Paul Robert Aiello Aiello is presently a Junior, English major and holds a minor in History, Business, and Philosophy. He has served on the Honors Program ' s Advisory Board, the Liberal Arts Forum, and as student editor for the Colonnades. Paul also served as Senator for the Student Government Assocation, the Elon College Self-Study Program, and as the first assistant to the Student Attorney General. Paul is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Alpha Chi, and Sigma Tau Delta. Paul has received a scholarship, was representative in the Harry S. Truman Scholarship competition, was included in the 1980-81 National Dean ' s List Catalogue, and has been on the Dean ' s List every semester he has been at Elon. Dennis Jerome Bailey Bailey is presently a Junior, dou- ble major in Religion and Philosophy. Dennis has served as Dorm President, Assistant Attorney General and is now Attorney General. iM Paul Aiello Pops Scholarship. She is a mem- ber of Alpha Chi, has been on the National Dean ' s List and on the Academic Dean ' s List many times. Raymond Hanna Coleman Coleman is presently a Senior with a Human Services major and a minor in Art. Ray has served on Transfer Day and also worked as an Orientation Counselor during Orientation Week. He served on the Phi Psi Cli yearbook staff and works on publicity with the Student Union Board. Ray also does audio- visual work with the Learning Resources Center and worked on the Student Government Homecoming Committee. He has served on the Gallery Players and is an active volunteer for the Alamance County Arts Council. Ray also serves as a volunteer for the Alamance County Volunteers for People. He has also been on the Academic Dean ' s List. Susan Carole Davis Davis is presently a MLT major at Elon, with a minor in Biology. Susan has also served as a Cheerleader and is a student mem- the Student Union Board and of Sigma Pi Social Fraternity. Dennis is an Honor Student and has been on the Dean ' s List several times, and the National Dean ' s List once. He was a Delegate to the National Collegiate Honors Council and has been a Committee member for SEAC. He has served on the Honors Advisory Committee and was the Basnight Award Recipient in 1979- 80. Dennis is a member of Alpha Chi, the Religious Life Committee, and he is a member of various Honors Program Committees. Margaret Susan Burkhart Burkhart is presently a Senior Elementary Education major. She has been on the Dean ' s List every year present at Elon, and also has been on the National Dean ' s List. She has received the Elon Academic Scholarship and has served as an Elon Civinette president, treasurer and homecoming representative. She is also representative on the Teacher Education Committee. She has been a nominee for the Rhodes and Marshall Graduate Studies Scholarships and is a member of Alpha Chi and of SNEA. Elisabeth Vennecia Bynum Bynum is presently a Senior Biology major. Vennecia has served on the Elon College Gospel Choir and has been the President and Secretary of the Black Cultural Society. She has served as a member in the Civinettes, the Phi Psi Cli Yearbook Staff and on the Liberal Arts Forum. Vennecia has also ser- ved on the Student Government Homecoming Committee, the Orientation Staff and on the Religious Life Committee. She has been involved in an Elon College Drama and has served on the Elon College Marching Band. Vennecia has been on the Dean ' s List and has served on the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society as Vice- President, and as Secretary of the Southeastern district. Linda Carol Clark Clark is presently a Senior, Ap- plied Voice major. She has par- ticipated in several Elon College Operas and was lead in HMS Pinafore . Clark has also served in the Chamber Singers, the Elon College Choir and the Orchestra. She is also a member of the Elon College Chapter MENC and has worked as a tutor in the L.R.C. Carol has received the Burlington Industries Scholarship and the Elon ber in MCSMT and ASMT. She is a member of Beta Beta Beta and of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Susan has assisted at the Biomedical Reference Laboratories and has at- tended the Ames Urinalysis Workshop. She has also been on the Dean ' s List. Diane Marie Dewhirst Dewhirst is presently a Senior Elementary Education Major, Psy- chology minor. Diane has served as secretary for Education Depart- ment. She has also been experienced as a waitress and as a salesperson. She has received the honor of Most Enthusiastic Cheerleader and she has been on the Dean ' s List. Diane has been the membership Director and Historian of Phi Mu Sorority. She has served on the Student Life Committee and on The Elon Children ' s Home Big Sister Program. Diane has also par- ticipated as Provisional Mem- bership Director of Phi Mu Social Sorority. Diane Lynn Fulford Lynn is a Senior Elementary Dennis Bailey 21
