Student Body Officers IT IS AN ESTABLISH ED fact now that the breaking of a tradition can bring good luck as well as bad. The best example of this is our student body president this year. In bygone days this office was always filled by a boy, but this time things were changed. Jeanne Hook has proved herself a most competent leader, and she has firmly established the idea that a girl can measure up to college standards as well as a boy. She has performed her many tasks conscientiously and willingly, and Elon students may well con- sider themselves fortunate to have had her for their president. Other student body officers functioning under the president are: Jessie Thurecht, Vice President; Lucille Morgan, Secretary; Gene Poe, Treasurer. 16
