FRANK WEBSTER, OUR FRIEND AND TEACHER For nineteen years the students of ECHS have been privileged to associate with one of Elmwood’s finest gentlemen. Whether in the driver education car, or on the athletic fields, or in the classroom, Mr. Webster has always been able to “keep his cool,’ to remain the master of the situation. In general, students would do well to emulate Mr. Webster. 5, " Se ee 4, - ’ ie SS st t Fo — a 7 eee, ae Ve ¥ oe Ree wh Die ok + ie Nace § o MO ASA O » : Pe é. Her American family was Mr. and Mrs. David Pittman, Tammy and Mike. Rosalea joined some of our clubs here at ECHS and made many, many friends. As an ambassador from Mexico, she represented her country well. We hope you enjoyed knowing us, Rosalea, as much as we all enjoyed having you with us for this school year. SCHAGERSTROM As a representative for Youth for Understanding, Ulf Schager- strom from Sweden proved to be one “cool” character. Ulf’s American family was Mr. and Mrs. Mark Kemper, Celene, Dale, Carolyn, Kathy and Cae- sar. Ulf quickly became a popu- lar member of our student body. Some of the pictures in this year- book were taken by Ulf. His year in the States also included tryouts for the play, a case of mononucleosis, helping organize a rock band, and making many good friends. SAYURI TSURI Sayuri Tsuri comes to Elmwood High School from Ako, Japan, sponsored by the Youth for Understanding. Sayuri has endeared herself to all who know her. Her great smile, nice disposi- tion and good manners have left a definite im- pression on all of us. Sayuri, we hope you have fond memories of your year with us. oe = a aaEEeenaEae ne ema ee ——— — ———T a rr a SS CO-EDITORS PHOTOGRAPHERS Cathy Dalton Jean Anne Strappe Linda Kissee Penny Silzer Carolyn Kemper - ULMUS STAFF ee AS SR RC et ET Row 1: Rhonda Bridson, Terri King, Verna Keyser, Vanessa Grove, Sharon Miller, Jean Anne Strappe, Cathy Da;ton, Gina Layman. Our officers for that year were Jack Mitchell, President; Kim Ramsay, Vice president; Sonia Durst, Treasurer and Lori Boyer, Secretary. We received 3rd place for our homecoming float, ‘Trojans Don’t Horse Around.” Our stunt was entitled ‘Trojans are shooting for a victory.”’ To be our leaders for our Sophomore year, we chose Dan Harlan, President; Cathe Cline, V-Pres.; Terri King, Treasurer and Kim Ramsay, Secretary. This was the year of the CLASS RINGS!!! We surprised everyone by taking 2nd place for our float ‘‘We Calculate a Victory.”’ Our stunt, McElmwood, didn’t fair as well. ; The big event of our Junior year, of course, was the Prom. We used ‘‘Color My World With Love’”’ as our theme. During this all-important year, our leaders were Penny Silzer, president; Rick Snider, vice-president; Cathe Cline, treasurer; and Verna Keyser was our secretary. We repeated our winning ways by receiving another second place on our float, ‘‘Dump ’em’’. For most of us, the prospect of graduating was incentive enough to keep us going. We achieved some “‘fame”’ by being the only senior class to not have a skit or float at homecoming. A few Seniors participated in the production of the yearbook. We all, however, anxiously await graduation. ib) RODNEY LEE ANDREWS Rod, Archie If winning isn’t everything then why the heck participate? A chilli supper, sponsored by the Senior class, started off our Homecoming. The Stunt Show followed, emceed by our own Janis Hurst. (Chuck Berris eat your heart out). At the conclusion of the evening the Freshmen class treated us to a bonfire and snakedance. At 10 A.M. on Saturday the parade started the second day of Homecoming. The Elmwood Trojans football team clashed with the Peoria Heights Patriots. Unfortunately, the outcome was not in our favor. We concluded a marvelous Homecoming weekend with the dance on Saturday night.
