VVe're the Saints. were from Heaven
YVe're the class of fifty-seven.
Most of us had our lirst taste of high school life not as freshmen hut as insignila-
cant eighth graders. Even as freshmen. we were still walking around on tiptoe and
afraid to meet a "uid" senior face to face. '
In our mad sophomore and junior years. we really hegan to "rock it up" in the
class tourneys. VVe hegan as Saints and ended as Tutti Fruittis with no pain at all.
Now were Saints again. Man. look at those halos!
Southern Fantasy was the smoothest prom in the history of the world. At least
it was for us juniors. The music was the most: the punch was peachy. and the cake
was delectahle. W'e had a hall!
W'e didn't need a money tree in our senior year: we needed a whole orchard
for pictures. announcements. caps and gowns. hanquets. dances, weddings. dues.
and Senior Day.
Things were lookin' up now. Graduation was cominf The last week was a
disordered mess with everybody in a panic. Then every senior, unbelievably calm
and collected. marched down the aisle on unsteady ankles.
XVe made it, Mom and Dad: we made it!

The most important activities of the dramatics class this year were the annual
three-act play and the Christmas program. This year's play was a science-liction
drama entitled Wm' of tlzc' Worlds. Dramatics teacher. Kent Kurtz. also directed
a special play for the P.T.A. called The Old Rum! District School House, and
a humorous one-act play for the student body called Nobody Sleeps. VVhen
you add declamations prepared for speech meets. you can see that dramatics class
has kept busy. X
