Hi Cats:
And . . . here we are! VVe've had a real nervous four years. It all began a long,
long time ago when we hrst entered as "lost greeniesf' We really thought the
seniors were the most! Then it seemed like it would be centuries before we would
be "big wheels." Remember the class tournaments? "Well, we just can't hardly
get them no more . . . and . . . we need them!" Our real gone freshman team
was the Hoop Happy Halfflireeds. Real weird, eh? What a gay time we had at
the freshman party! All we squares just stood around and looked at each other.
VVhy? VVho knew how to dance?
Our sophomore year was our basketball year. VVe cheered, we cheered: we
really thought we had it made: but North Side hnally came through and won
the sectional. Then we cried and we cried.
VVhen we were juniors. we really thought we were cool 'cause that's the year
we had our First real gone "dress-up" dance. In our junior year, tho', the prom
was really the main event. Everyone made it a point to get in early . . . in the
morning, that is. This was the year that the boys finally consented to dance. Man,
the prom was really the greatest!
The best word that could describe our senior year is "Money!" Senior pictures,
gowns, announcements, name cards, senior banquet, and junior-senior dance. Our
maddest dream all four ears was for a new 0 m, all our own . . . and . . . there it
D
is...and...
Here we are, alive with jive,
The jumpin! Grads of '55l!
P.S. VVe'll be diggin' ya!!!

lines roll around each month. These deadlines are usually met on time thanks to
the patience and guidance of Mrs. Ella Banter, who is in charge of the editorial

event of the staff is a banquet held in the spring. At this banquet staff members

. 'N' This seasons reserve team compiled a season record of Five victories against
ly eleven defeats. The team, made up of mostly freshmen and sophomores, had it
4 tough throughout the entire season due to uneven balance and not too much in
v -'dfthe way of height. As the scoring in these games indicates, the reserves lost 1
l-lil number of games by hve or less points. The freshmen and sophomores on this
season's team should come back as strong varsity material in a season or two.

This season's varsity basketball campaign came to a close with one of the poorest
records compiled in recent years. The reason for this seemed to be the lack of
experience and height, which are a great factor in a winning team. However,
looking over the roster, you will notice there are but two seniors. The underclass-
men should come back strong next year.

The main project for the E Club this year was the always popular class tourna-
ment held in our new gym. This year the Iunior Iddy Biddy Buddies walked oil
the floor as class tourney champs. In doing so, they Hrst had to dump the Senior
Dirty Birds. In the Hrst round of this three day tourney, the Sophomore Saints
defeated the Freshman Fireballs.
Besides the fantastic names, there were the unusual color combinations such as
pink and black, red and yellow, and others. The purpose of the class tourneys is,
of course, not only to give enjoyment to the students, but also to pay for E Club
pictures in the yearbook and for a dance each year,
Mr. Eickhoff is chief sponsor of this club. B. Douglass is president: P. Eckrich,
vice-president: C. Roehm, secretary: M. Backs, treasurer. All present and former
E Club members and all sponsors who award E's enjoyed the April Fool Dance.
