A. A. I-Z it was a hard fight, On the afternoon of May 24. fifty-four graduates and their sponsor clustered about Herky who was frantically listing senior activities. Soon after the seniors had renewed old acquaint- ances, they elected ofhcers, who. with Miss Falls, kept the dogwatch on the senior calendar of events. On October 14. Herky enjoyed the music of Lowell Meyers' orchestra and the colorful carnival decorations of the Senior Fiesta. Herky bent a willing ear to the comedy, A Cheerful Little Earfulf' presented by the seniors November 30. After much cramming, the seniors passed their hrst semester exams. Then, Herky and his staff began work on the Anlibrum. However, on February 14, they took time off to exchange Valentines. The childish antics of April 26 were not those of some stray grade school children but just the seniors frolicking on their annual Kid Day. XY'ith comic strips as the theme, the graduates turned out for a semi-formal banquet May 11 in the Old Fort Room of the lndiana Hotel. Doning caps and gowns, they heard Rev. XY'illiam N. Vincent's baccalaureate sermon on May 19. On May 23 at 7 o'clock, the class of '40 rubbed the sleep out of their eyes and joined the faculty at breakfast. And now, said Prexy XVindy, that you've heard Mr. Herbert W'illis' address. Life's Xwidest Horizon, turn in your caps and gowns. Amid the congratulations and exhibiting of gradu- ation presents, Herky slipped away to write in detail the history of the year. Page fliii fri II
