Little Herky was kept mighty busy running hither and yon taking notes on the various trips and activities of the Phy-Chem Club. He first sharpened his pencil on September I2 to record the result of the election of offlicers. His notes revealed that those elected were: jim Beltz, president: Bob Shaefer. vice-president: Wanda Sarasien, secretary- treasurer. NVhen Herky returned to Fort Xvayne on Novem- ber I2, although worn out, he had much to tell The trips that were taken in October, December, February, April, and May, were well planned by D. Connett, P. AI. Scott. M. Merrill, D. Rogers, and G. Deahl. Many a spill was taken by Herky on january I5 when the club sponsored a skating party at Bell's Rink. Movies about oil were shown to the club and their guests. the Commercial Club, in March. The biggest event of the year, the Phy-Chem Fun Fest, was held on March 29 with Carl Hollman We work hard and what do we get? groaned acting as master of ceremonies. An orchestra com- posed of Roland Hille, Louise Lepper. Raymond Fisher, Harold Mason, Tom Foltz, Tom Braeuer. Donald Stute, Roger Ellison, Max Buskirk. and Nelson Millhouse furnished music for dancing. There were so many waiters, including Mr. Wisner. the singing waiter. and other entertainers running about that Herky thought he was in a real night club. about the two day session at the Junior Academy of Science at Terre Haute. Twenty-two members: Miss XVimmer, Mr. Wisner. sponsorsg and Herbert Dautz. the bus driver, attended the meeting. James Beltz was secretary of the academy and jack Wfilkie was elected president for the coming year. Jack's death March Z0 was a great loss to the club and to his schoolmates. The oihcers of the club, jack Wfilkie, David Coil. the members of the Forum Club. We look up facts in musty old books and slave getting them in order and then the judge falls for the opposing team's looks so we lose. The teams this year have the knowledge, though, that they have compiled enough statistics on railroads to build one-almost-as their Subject was Government Control of Railroads. and Raymond Fisher, all agreed that the tea dances and parties seemed to go over better than the debates did. The Forum Club holds great promise for the coming year with a new subject and experienced debaters. Letters were awarded by Miss McComb to David Coil, klack Vfilkie, Donnabel l.ovele.s, Margaret Cox, and Raymond Fisher. Pugi' In 4 uli -rim
