ment, they're cheering! The newly elected Prom Queen is acclaim- ed-ltlartha Kemmer. Oh. and look. They're in full-dress parade. Thatls Bob Shea furnishing the rhythm. How lovely everyone appears, as the grand march flashes by. And then suddenly, it's over, all, all over. Back to discipline they must go, but not for long. Their leave of absence finds them seperating awhile. We lose track of them, only to see them again in '3-L, heads up and chests out, full of pep and spice. QNot breakfast food, eitherj. Almost immediately the seniors possess themselves of barracks room 12, and adopt its petite inmate, Miss Falls as their final General. Final captaincy is confered on James VVolf. Bob Arnold, is made a lst lieutenant, Vera Hoffman, staff correspondent, and Ardis Yentes, 2nd lieutenant. They are aroused with new spirit, and in October they camp for a night to celebrate the Harvest Moon with a dance. The Orchestra Conunittee, composed of Audrey Gebhart, chairman, Virginia Coleman and Lucille Neuman, again calls on Bob Shea for the music. The decoration committee, of which Russ Troxel is chairman, consists of Bob Arnold, Jim VVolf, Lou Auman, and Jane Strauss. In charge of tickets and publicity is Louise Houser, aided by Oletha Griffith and Jeanette Smith. Over all, the General Chairman, Vera Hoffman presides. Successful? Yes, indeed. Is it a bad dream? No, the general is merely temporarily absent and the pace for the time is slowe1'. Discipline is lacking. But at her return she snaps her finger and all is well, at least until the troop edits its annual. Look at that constant line of wastebaskets be- ing emptied and refilled. See how the staff pulls its hair, and wracks its brains! In due time, though, everything is O. K. Smiles result, when pages are hurriedly and fondly turned. Congratulations to the Anlibrum squad and to the senior class of '34, Closely following this, we see a pageant, the Senior play, VVatch Your Step. Next a side-show. 101' is it kid day The Senior breakfast is the next pause, and at last the Final halt is called. Commencement Day, Commencement Dance, and the vic- tory is won. The troop scatters. The students marched out from the past, are reviewed in the present, and march on, alone, to--what in the future? Anyhow, heads up! March!

HI SCHOOL PARADE HE parade is on! From our high vantage point we see the phantom marchers gathering. They swarm from North Side, South Side and all directions, and a babble of voices is faintly . . heard. Very suddenly, all is in order and quiet. VVe dis- tinguish ltlr. Eickhoff going out to lead the troop that chose him as their General. From the reviewing stand, section May-1934, we dis- cover that the sophomores in '32 are electing their leaders, but not un- til they come closer do we lea1'n that the captain is Ralph Snyder, the lgst lieutenant, Eugene Romey, and staff' correspondent and 2nd lieutenant, Don Ake1's. While passing through November, they halt. There is a party. They resume their steady advance. N ow they are being detained at a junction called Semester Exams. As we watch, they rally. and are rewarded by a three months' leave of absence. The time seems all too short. and before long we spy them re- appearing, tanned and talkative. Their conduct as a sophomore troop promoted them to the rank of Juniors in the region of VVe see them much plainer now. Is it because they are taller? There is not so much confusion now. either. lMiracles do happenj. VVhy they are changing horses in the middle of the stream, I mean Gener- als in the middle of the st1'eet. Anyhow, Miss VVimmer is stepping into Mr. Eickhoff's shoes fnot literally of coursej. This IICWV little general has flashing hair and Hashing eyes, and under her supervision Qno pun, I assure youy, Jolm Brittenham is named captain. Don Akers. lst lieutenant, Oletha Griffeth, staff correspondent. and Ralph Snyder, 2nd lieutenant. Almost immediately, John delegates a squad to be known as the Junior social council, at least that's what the banner that Bob Arnold's carrying says. Rallying to the standard is Hans Seiher, Esther Robertson. Vera Hoffman, and Martha Kemmer. VVhy are 501116 faces so glum down there under Oletha's man- agement! They netted S5150 profit from candy sales. It nmst be the banks. But, nevertheless, plans for the Prom occupy many a pri- vate's spare time. VVhat can that be that theyire hoisting up-a banner! Yessir, and it's pink and green, the troop's ofiicial colors. And that card beside it has on it the committees, of course. Let's see. Vera Hoffman. chai1'n1an of Prom Decorations, has for her helpers Leah Nyffeler, Jim Wfolf, Russ Troxel, and Lou Auman. Chairman of Invitations. Bob Arnold, is assisted by Oletha Griffith and Helen Engle. The Orchestra Committee is headed by Audrey Gebhart, to- gether with Lucille Neuman and Virginia Coleman. As the troop nears April 29, they grow more feverishly active. A special halt is called. They're voting. They're making an announce-
