As freshmen we were boistrous and loud
High Schoolers, man-were we ever proud.
Sophomore year, not quite so sure and bold
High school-gee, this stuff is getting old.
We're great, we're fine, as Juniors we were cool
Don't sweat it babe -only one more year of school
Seniors now, and we still think we're great
But when we face the world-how are we gonna rate?

School Crest
To honor our school, industry and heritage, Elma High School drew up a crest. The crest is divided into three
main parts, symbolising our community. An open book resting near a quilled pen portrays the influence of our
school and students, lofty fir Uees represents our town's industrial backbone, While a powder horn hung on an ax
' ' d h ' brave fi ht to tame this wilderness. The entire crest is protectively
reminds us of the hardy pioneers an t e1r g
wrapped in the wings of a mighty eagle.

SENIOR CLASS HISTORY
The mighty class of '69' began their high school days by electing Dennis Boyer as President, Ed Olson, vice-
president, Cheryl james secretary, Vicki Secrest, treasurer, and Catherine Huttula as ASB representative. Under
the direction of their advisor Mr. Fuquay they had 2 skits, a dance, a bake sale, a candy sale, and a car wash.
During their Sophomore year Ed Olson was elected president, Catherine Huttula, vice-president, Anne Meister,
secretary, Gary Whipple, Treasurer, and Cheryl james as ASB representative. They had a skit, a bake sale, and
a dance, all very successful with the guidance of their advisor Mr. Garrison.
In their junior year they elected Don Thompson as president, Harry Henneck, vice-president, Cheryl james,
secretary, Dexter Salsman, treasurer, and Denny Boyer as ASB representative. With the help of their advisor,
Miss Witt they had a dance, a successful class play, and received their class rings.
Now as mighty seniors they elected Ron Pannell as president, Dexter Salsman, vice-president, Anne Meister,
