EXEC TIVE UFFICER A resident of Sunapee New Hampshire Lieutenant Commander Mark Montgomery was commissioned in 1985 through the NROTC program at the University of Pennsylvania after receiving B A and M A. degrees in History and Political Science His initial sea duty assignment was as a division officer on the Norfolk-based nuclear powered cruiser USS BAINBRIDGE CCGN 255 participating in Operation Desert Storm Following Department Head School Lieutenant Commander Montgomeiy was assigned to the Pearl Harbor based destroyer USS LEFFWICH CDD 9845 as Operations Officer He was then assigned to the Norfolk-based aircraft carrier USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT CCVN 715 where he senfed as Reactor Electrical Assistant While on ROOSEVELT he participated in Operation Deliberate Force in Bosnia His shore duty assignment was as a student at Oxford University, where he earned a Masters degree in South Asian History He has also completed the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training pipeline and the Air Command and Staff College correspondence course His next assignment will be as a Whitehouse Fellow sewing as the Director for Transnational Security His decorations include the Meritorious Sennce Medal, Navy Commendation Medal Ctwo awardsj, Navy Achievement Medal Cfour awardsj, and various unit and campaign awards. COMZIMNDING O F1 CER Commander Steven R. Straussen a native of Corona, California, graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1978 and was commissioned in May 1979 upon completion of Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. His sea tours include assignments as Damage Control Assistant and Combat Information Center Officer in USS TRUETT CFF 10955, Engineering Officer on USS ALBERT DAVID QFF 10505 and USS LYNDE MCCORMICK CDDG 85, and Commanding Officer in USS AFFRAY CMSO 5115 and USS PATRIOT CMCM 75. Ashore, he has served on staff at the Naval Education and Training Center and the Engineering Branch, Surface Warfare Officer's School Command, both in Newport, Rhode Island. He also served as North Atlantic Treaty Organization Exercise Planning Officer at Headquarters, Commander in Chief Eastern Atlantic, London, United Kingdom. Most recently, he received a Master of Arts degree from the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island. Commander Strausser's awards include the Defense Meritorious Senfice Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal Cthree awards5, Navy Achievement Medal Cwith Combat l'v'Q two awards5, Combat Action Ribbon, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy Unit Commendation, and various other awards. Commander Strausseris married to the former KathleenGreenland of Riverside, California. They have four children: Alexanden Michael, Jeffery and Timothy. --

EXEC OFFICER A resident of San Diego Cailfornia Lieutenant Commander David Jobb was commissioned in 1985 through Officer Candidate School after receiving a B A degree in International Studies from Virginia Tech His initial sea duty assignment was Communications!Electronics Materials based USS PEORIA QLST 11835 Lieutenant Commander Jobb next senfed as Fire 1 ontrol Officer and Navigator aboard the San Diego-based cruiser USS JOUETI' i CG 295 participating in Operation Desert Shield Following Department Head School Lieutenant Commander Jobb was assigned to the San Diego-based cruiser JSS CHANCELLORSVILLE CCG 625 as the Weapons!Combat Systems Officer While on CHANCELLORSVILLE he participated in the Tomahawk missile strike against the Iraqi Intelligence Headquarters in June 1993 He reported to the USS ELLIOT CDD 9675 as Executive Officer in August 1998 His shore duty assignments include CVICVN training team instructor at Fleet Combat Training Center, Pacific and as the Officer-in-Charge, Surface Warfare Development Group, Detachment West. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, three awards of the Navy Commendation Medal, two awards of the Navy Achievement Medal and various unit and campaign awards.
