EXECUTIVE CDFFICER LCDR MICHAEL D. ANHALT Lieutenant Commander Michael D. Anhalt was born 4 September 1949 in Racine, Wisconsin. He received a Bach- elor Degree of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute of Fine Arts in 1971. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Navy and served as a Nuclear Machinest Mate and qualified in sub- marines. Lieutenant Commander Anhalt received his commis- sion as an Ensign in 1977. He served his first tour of duty aboard USS BEAUFORT ATS-2 as Chief Engineer and Diving Officer from 1970 to 1980. Next, he was assigned as Navi- gator aboard USS ELLIOT DD-967 from 1980 to 1982. He was stationed ashore as an instructor at Surface Warfare Officer School in Newport, Rhode Island, and then upon completion of Department Head School, was assigned as Operations Officer aboard USS PYRO AE-24 from 1985 to 1987. He then served aboard USS BRONSTEIN FF-1037 as Executive Officer from 1987 to 1988. After six mohths at the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia, Lieu- tenant Commander Anhalt assumed duties as Executive Officer of USS ELLIOT DD-967 in August 1989. CCDMMAND MASTER CHIEF FCCMCSWD EDWARD M. MAKI FCCMCSWD Maki was born 12 October 1942 in Biwabik, Minnesota. After graduation from Aurora Hoyt Lakes High School in Aurora, Minnesota, he enlisted in the Navy in May 1960. Master Chief Maki, upon completion of Firecontrol A and C schools, served aboard USS JOHN R. PIERCE DD-753 until separation from active duty in 1963. Master Chief Maki joined the Naval Reserves in July 1968 and drilled with the reserves in both Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Portland, Oregon. He returned to active duty in September 1 972 and has served aboard USS NIAG- ARA FALLS AFS-3, USS JOUETT CG-29, SSCXNTC San Die- go, California, USS COOK FF-1083, FTG San Diego, FTC San Diego and USS ELLIOT DD-967. Master Chief Maki is married to the former Miss Lois A. Christopher of Stoughton, Wisconsin. The Maki's have three daughters, Erika, Jessica and Michelle, and reside in San Diego, California.

COMMANDING OFFICER CDR TIMOTHY W. LAFLEUR Commander Timothy W. LaFleur, U. S. Navy, is a na- tive of Oak Park, Illinois. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in June 1970 with a degree in Na- val Science. Commander LaFleurfs initial duty assignment was to USS CONSTANT MSO-427 where he served as Mine Countermeasures Officer and Executive Officer. Upon completion of Naval Destroyer School in August 1973, Commander LaFleur's sea duty billets included Opera- tions Officer on USS HAWKINS DD-873, Chief Engineer of USS FORT SNELLING LSD-30, Flag Lieutenant for Com- mander Cruiser Destroyer Group Five, Executive Officer of USS HEWITT DD-966 and Chief Staff Officer of De- stroyer Squadron Thirty One. Commander LaFleur's first shore tour was as Sea Coordinator in the Junior Officer Assignment Branch of the Naval Military Personnel Command from 1978 to 1980. He then attended the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, California where he received a Mas- ter ofScience Degree in Financial Management. Before reporting to USS ELLIOT DD-967, Commander LaFleur was a financial analyst in the Office of Program Appraisal and then served as Administrative Aide to the Secretary of the Navy. Commander LaFleur's personal awards include the Legion of Merit Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Med- al. Mrs. LaFleur is the former Miss Judy Guido of Long Beach, California. The LaFleur's have two children, Patrick and Amy, and reside in San Diego, California.
