14-13, at Ellet Saturday, October 6. This marked the
first time that the Rough Riders have beaten Ellet since
they joined the Metro loop.
The Orangemen got off to an early start when
Gary Rife intercepted Dick Dennis' pass, on the first
play of the game, and dodged hither and yon for 45
yards and a touchdown. Bill Washburn then kicked
Ellet to a 7 U lead
Roosevelt tied it up in the second quarter but Ellet
uncorked a short passing game late in the period
featured by four shots from Washburn to Rife to move
70 yards for their second score The try for the extra
polnt was missed
The Rough Riders tied it up in the fourth quarter
