Time To Part
At last the txme has come,
The partlng of the ways,
When we shall depart from
Years fllled wlth happy days
We are saddened by the thought
That partmg always brmgs
But our memorres cant be bought
Lrke ordmary thmgs
We ve traveled hfes road together
Through four years of study and play
We ve weathered all klnds of weather
We'll leave Ellet carefree and gay
The tlme IS passmg fast
Class days w1ll soon be oer
And well open wrde lifes door
When class days he behmd
And each goes hrs separate way
To seek out success and to flnd
The goal worked for day after day

Class History
September 3 1936
Dear Diary
One hundred and nineteen other students and I entered Ellet High School today
There were about 62 boys and 57 girls who came from Wlndemere and Ellet grade
schools They were all good looking and eager to take over Ellet for themselves in
the next four years This first day was very difficult and was spent in trying to un
derstand school policies and to keep out of the way of upperclassmen Under the
watchful eyes of these superior beings a group of tyrants who called themselves
sophomores spent the day exhlbitmg freshman boys legs painted faces and reversed
shirts
September 3 1937
Dear Diary
Its been a year since I last wrote an account of the school llfe here in Ellet Last
year in 1936 we freshman did well for ourselves One of the boys in our ranks took
top honors in the scholastic field Many of the boys and girls in our class received
sport literary or activity letters during the year
Today we sophomore boys fixed the new freshmen boys The usual ceremony of
initiation was in effect throughout the day It felt swell to be giving instead of
taking the punishment called lnitiation
June 13 1939
Dear Diary
tember when we shall come back as seniors
Last year when we were sophomores we did our share in school activities Many
of us had duties to perform in sports clubs and plays One high light of the year
was the operetta Lady of the Blue Moon
This year that has Just passed has been the biggest we have ever had Being
Juniors we were entitled to buy class Jackets give a Junior dramatic club play and
enterta1n the seniors at a banquet Our class flower is a dark red rose The class
colors are black and red We ordered our class rings late in the second semester
They will be delivered next fall
June 13 1940
Dear Diary
Our last year arrived sooner than we expected This last year was filled with
work that made the few remaining, weeks short for most of us
We staged a senior dramatic club play bought class pictures graduation an
nouncements and formed a staff to put out the annual Elletlan Our prom was
held at Silver Lake Country Club Today our commencement was held in the East
High School auditorium where we received our diplomas We are now ready to ven
ture into the world alone Tomorrow we return our maroon and white caps and
gowns and our high school days will be over
