SPORTS SUMMARY
The Ellenville Soccer team, perennial champions, won the DUSO League honor
again this year. Spurred on by Co-Captains. Frank Gallo and Richard Yerkes, also
record scoring of Lee Roberts, the Devils went undefeated in League competition,
racking up 32 goals in the process. Much of the credit for this championship team
must go to our coach, Mr. Roberts.
Although losing three of last yearis starting five, Ellenville will be a tough team
this year with fine replacements coming up from ,I.V. The team, in the midst of
a strong league and led by six returning lettermen, is sure of doing well in the com-
ing season. A great deal of credit is due to our fine coaches, Mr. Walsh and Mr.
Ellison.
During the '55 baseball season, our team, ably led by Mr. Roberts, chalked up
another league triumph while losing only one game in ten. Led by captain Kenneth
Distel, the team rolled over its opponents.
The girls enjoyed a well rounded intramural program consisting of field hockey,
basketball, volleyball, tennis and softball. The girls also made a fine showing in
interscholastic basketball and softball.
