' M if l Early this year the faculty and student body electe the tenth successful j Student Council of E.C.H.S. The purpose of the Council is to give the students A and organizations of our school a form of self-government. All kinds of prob- J! lems are brought before the Council to solve. The Student Council decorated the football field for the Homecoming Game in October. An assembly program was also given that afternoon. A new gas stove was purchased and placed in the laboratory. This proved very useful when refreshments were needed at parties and the funior Carnival. The faculty also cooked their lunches on it during noon hours. The scrap drive was planned by the Council. With the cooperation of the Whole school, it proved to be a great success. The Council purchased War stamps and the members took turns selling them at noon in the specially constructed booth. On December 7, this being the first anniversary of our entrance in the War, about twenty-eight dollars Worth of stamps were sold. , A picture of lack Williamson was bought to be hung in the assembly, as he was our first war casualty. lack was a former member of the Student Council. The building was decorated at Christmas by the Council. A program was given in which the assembly joined in the singing. Gifts were exchanged, including the contents of the fun box. 1103
