The Elkland "Rams"finished up the season with an 11 win 3 loss league record and the run-
ner-up position in the Tioga County Basketball League. They lo s t two games to Mansfield, the
winners, and one to Wellsboro.
Ankle injuries hampered the "Rams" throughout the season. Wayne Dornsife twisted first
his left then his right ankle, both before crucial contests.Larry Swan and Brad Hackett also bore
some bad ankle complications and were occasionally lost to the team.
Three of the "Rams" ended the season with double figures. Dornsife with 18, Hackett with
14, and Dorn with 11 points per game. The usual five shot a 54 foul shooting percentage for the
season.
Brad Hackett and Ray Coover a c te d as co-captains and Tom Caffo handled the managerial
duties. Denny Dorn and Virgil Davis were sports writers for the Journal and sports casters on
the Corning Radio.
Swan and McDivitt were chosen for the All-star game at Mansfield, McDivitt taking over for
Dornsife after Wayne twisted his ankle in practice the day before.
Because Elkland ended the season in second lace Coach Me ers coached the All-stars
P I y :
and Elkland cheerleaders led the cheers under Mr. Heck's supervision at the final event.
