Those tantalizing odors that came from the home economics cooking classes made many of us wish that we could take part in the eating of the products produced there. However, just as important as the tasting was the planning and the preparation involved with the cooking class' learning experience. Another phase of the home economics activity which also provides learning that could be put to immediate us was the training received in the sewing classes. Each spring the girls' efforts were rewarded by admiring glances from their audience at the Mother- Daughter style show and tea. 7-zdaaazeal,-4-:u2wld42zugaz?udamf4a 706-a4lU!6d70Zf467l6 7:1064 Ample shop space and complete facilities gave added inspiration to the thorough instruction received in the wood work, metal work, blueprinting, repairing, machinery and electricity. Not just the technique for precision, control, and ability to play in a group was emphasized, but the theory of music was also carefully studied. A person must have good pitch and clear direction while singing. Mr. Millard could be heard in his vocal music classes urging his students to Open your mouths wide so the sound can come out clearly! Vocal exercises and music appreciation were made to give all students interested the most they could get from this instruction. ,-hz D 5 Oazwvwl Summa Of Vnwazd ?edcu9 For students who enjoyed exploring areas different from regular class work, our art department gave an opportunity for active participation in a field of beauty and pleas- ure.
