However, along with this know how is developed an enthusiastic spirit of inquiry for going into the more specific phases of doing a good job better. Activity here is strenuous but rewarding. No other class at E-town High afforded so many narrow escapes with so much fun and seriousness at the same time. For all its trying moments, we benefited greatly from this expert training before we took our actual tests to get our licenses. It gave us confidence, poise and an understanding of the car's PAUL W. Those tantalizing odors that came from the home economics cooking classes made many of us wish that we could take part in the eating of the products produced there. However, just as important as the tasting was the planning and the preparation involved with the cooking class' learning experience. Another phase of the home economics activity which also provides learning that could be put to immediate us was the training received in the sewing classes. Each spring the girls' efforts were rewarded by admiring glances from their audience at the Mother- Daughter style show and tea. 7-zdaaazeal,-4-:u2wld42zugaz?udamf4a 706-a4lU!6d70Zf467l6 7:1064 Ample shop space and complete facilities gave added inspiration to the thorough instruction received in the wood work, metal work, blueprinting, repairing, machinery and electricity. Students in all phases of the manual training classes found that emphasis was on vocational and hobby use of the skills acquired. Many of us, because of this llIdIlJ'f1'f!Ilfl1'I,f early, effective training, will seek employment in industry directly after graduation, or from this guidance will continue our training in technical schools.
