THE CLASS OFFICERS have been the guiding hand of the Class of 1948. It has been their duty to contribute much time and effort in solving major problems, making decisions, and planning class projects. As president of his class, Eugene Morris assumed great responsibilities and proved worthy of his title. Kenneth Baker held the office of vice-president. Mildred Boll, secretary, kept the records and minutes of the classg and Arlene Keller, treasurer, handled the finances. The Seniors, led by their president, Eugene Morris hold a class meeting in the auditorium. I9

3 Cfadd of 7948 marie llibfor IT ALL BEGAN on a beautiful September morning twelve years ago. School was a new experience for the future members of the Class of 1948. and they were a bit fright- ened. But they soon lost their timidity and by the time they had reached junior High School they knew all of the tricks of the trade. In junior High. school became more complicated as they went in search of classrooms. tried to open lockers. and limbered muscles in gym classes. Interest in school life also increased with the joining of Junior Y organiza- tions. participation in assembly programs. and planning of various parties. Senior High home rooms were located on the second Hoor. Members of the class selected courses for coming years, joined the Senior Hi-Y, Tri-Hi-Y, and choruses. With graduation in sight, activites increased. Before the Junior year, class officers were elected: president, Eugene Morris: vice-president, Robert Bodmang secretary, Mildred Bollg treasurer, Arlene Keller. The class played host to the Seniors at the Prom and displayed dramatic talent as juniors in Brother Goose and as Seniors in Almost Eighteen. Members of the class held important berths on various athletic teams. In fact. it was well represented in all lines of school activity. As graduation approached. the Class of 1948 went forth into the future bearing its red and white symbols of cour- age and purity. They knew that this was only the begin- ning, that they were Not at the top, but still climbing. KTOP PICTURE, The junior Play, Brother Goose, was first attempt of the Class of '48 at dramatics.
