MUTHER ETO
O God, the giver of all good gifts, who
hast shown the power of Thy grace in
the life and virtues of Thy servant,
Elizabeth Seton, deign to draw others
to Thy service by the sweet influence
of her example, and, if such be Thy
holy will, hasten the Cause of her
Beatification.
This we beg of Thee through the inter-
cession of Thy Blessed Mother, the
Queen of Saints. Amen.
DEDIC T10
To Mother Seton, we the Senior Class, dedicate our 1956 Yearbook.
Through the inspiration of her daughters, the Sisters of Charity, a firmer and
better understanding of life is being effected in the students of Elizabeth Seton High
School. Here we receive both intellectual and spiritual guidance which is designed
to form better citizens and stronger Christians. Therefore, it is to Mother Seton,
our patroness, whose guidance and protection we ask in future years, that we
respectfully dedicate our labors.

Sister Stella Marie, our prin-
cipal, greets us with announce-

Days at Seton are crowded with
studies, fun and excitement, but
there are always little spare mo-
ments for something extra special-
visits to the Chapel.
Setonians realize that the One Who
lives in this Home makes itpossible
for them to enjoy their busy days.

Mary Alice Powers to the postulancy of
the Sisters of Charity on September 8,
1955. There she is daily striving to
become a champion of Christ realizing
that the more she gives herself to God
as a religious, the more He gives Him-
self to her, and in turn brings happiness
greater than anything the world can give.
"Be attentive to the voice ofGrace.
Dwell in prayer on the best
thoughts of the moment. Love to
soar above in your good time of
prayer."
Mother Seton
5'-
Emily Kobach to Heaven on August 8,
1955. Emily entered into her eternal
abode to praise and glorify God forever.
The Class of '56 pays prayerful tribute
to the memory of Emily who no longer
walks the halls with us but lives with
us in spirit.
"But eternity even now - eternity
takes its endless course for the
soul - a delightful, an inexpress-
ibly delightful course for the
blessed soul that watched so well
for it during its short time of
trial.'

A sprinkling of Stardust fell upon the heads of the cast of the Senior Class
Play, and the poor things never got over it. Besides listening to Mr. Bock's
lectures and playing "sliced oranges," the members of this dramatic school
managed to become the "spirit of a trampcar' and to chase Hollywood
promoters. All in all they managed to make life miserable for Prudence
Mason, the Broadway star, who came to this Dramatic School so that she
might not become stale. With a little black crepe paper and a good deal of
plotting, the students finally learned their lesson, namely, to take a person
for what she is, not for what she appears to be.

STAG DANCES
Juke boxes, disc jockeys and just plain
fun are all elements to be found at Seton
Stag dances, Boys, girls, and music plus
Bunny Hops and Hokey Pokeys add up to
an evening of fun and dancing. This for-
mula is repeated often during the year.
Mary Grace Raker and James Valco were
selected for attendants to the Queen's
Court at the Federation Ball.

On this year's calendar, the Mother's Tea,
Father's Smoker, and the Fall Festival, high-

ln addition to many affairs which are always a
social success as well as financial, the Guild
graciously chaperons our formal proms and stag

May the Guild continue to grow and carry on
its good work, and may we join with it in praying

A new spiritual experience for Se- L S
tonians was the three day Retreat
conducted by Father Louis Nene, 3
We had the very special privilege 2 fair K, E
of having Our Lord present in the
Blessed Sacrament in Guild Hall
during the entire retreat. In silence,
we meditated upon the many thoughts
suggested by Father Nene, but the
one that we will long remember is
that of uwalking hand in hand through
life with 'Our Lady of the Blessed
Sacrament."

The day for which the Class of '56 has waited
has finally arrived. As we walk down the aisle
to receive our diplomas from Father Holzer,
our minds wander back to the smiles, sorrows,
fun and work we shared together in our four
years at Seton. We shall always cherish the
memories of the friends we've made. As we
follow our various vocations, Seton's motto
"ln His will is our peace," will lead us to our
Eternal Commencement.
"Time now to say, 'Good bye,"' fills the air on
Lantern Chain Night. On this traditional night,
our little sisters bid farewell to us who have
helped them get acquainted with Seton.
