This business if living was meant to be more tha n plodding along each
day
With head bowekz down and eyes on the ground while Time ticks the
hours away.
God made this world a delighU'ul place with beauty everywhere-
The grass, the flowers, the trees, the sky, the tang of clean, fresh air-
A world to' be lived in, laughed in, loved, to be met with joy and zest.
A world with a challenge for each of us to give it our very best,
This business of living was never meant as a treadmill sort rf thing,-
There are rivers to cross, and mountains to climb, and glorious songs to
sing!

U I had known less I would not grieve seeing the year its course has
nearly run. I would be glad our task is almost done, glad for the bit of
rest we shall receive. It would not trouble me to see you leave, and, walk-
ing through the halls and classrooms where we meet so often now, their
emptiness would not oppress me when you are not there. It would not
matter much, I would not care,-iff had known you less.
But I have watched your minds and hearts grow strong, pitted against
the problems of the hour, and I have felt a deep, upwelling power, as, like
a mighty wave, you surge along into the future, where your lives belong,
the radiant future, where your dreams will grow and flower and fruit
upon some distant shore. To watch your progress there I may not go, but
I rejoice in prospect even so, knowing the promise you have shown before,
certain of its fuU'illment more and more.

It's a busy world we live in, We get caught in the race,
And sometimes our sense of values Slips a little out ofplaee.
It's a good thing to pull over To the roadside now and then
And get our thinking straightened out Before we start again.
And, like as not, we 'lljind a thought Or two to make us glad
Some blessing that we 've overlooked,-Forgotten that we had.
!
A few good honest thoughts and Chances are that we'll arrive
At the hea rtening conclusion That it 's good to be alive.
There 's a new exciting challenge In the race of lgne when viewed
With a heart refreshed with gladness, And with prayerful gratitude.

How can one measure friendship-The firm, warm clasp of a hand,
The comfort found in the welcome sound of the words, 'Y understandv?
How can one measure courage-The strength we End to fight,
To suffer lU'e 's anxieties, To stand up for the right?
How can one measure beauty, hope, or happiness, or lofve?
What man-made measure can encompass Faith in God above?
So much of life-the best of lzfe-The things we truly treasure,

MEM ORIE ARE MAD
OR GAN I ZA TIO
Flowers beside the path are springing,
With their perfume, memories bringing,
Thoughts of all those years gone by
4 When we loitered, you and I,
In the garden fair and sweet
Of lyfe 's springtime, full, complete,
Days in the long ago, tis true,
But Memory guides our steps anew.
