Emery Ebbert went into his second year of coaching for Elgin High with Chet Alexander as line coach. With a combination of bad luck and many tough teams to face, the team still ended up with a fourth in the Big Eight standings. With the cool thinking of quarterback Bill Wahl and the superb running of Ronnie Miller, Carver Leach, and Louie Mclntire, the backfield was a com- bination that clicked. Leach and Mclntire led in the scoring column with 36 and 24 points respectively. Two other backfield men who shared the kicking duties were Ronnie Weisner and Ronnie Eadler. The latter collected 12 points in place kicks, The line was bolstered by Co-Captains Fred Drago and Ralph Sherwood. Center Sherwood was placed on the Chicago Daily News all-state team. The end situation looked good at the start, but because of a shoulder injury to Bob Survant, and the illness of Bob Peterson, Coach Ebbert's hopes were dimmea These shoes were filled by Morris Svendsen Bill Gibbins and Roy Andreson The rest of the line positions were filled by Dick Simonsen Duane Hulke Terry Men? and Erhardt Moosmann The managers were Dick Miller Iohn Thornton and lim Hudgens Anal' Bac lou L uh I-hc-rr Nfgr ID Nfillcr F S hmittndorf B Lenxrt IJ Hullse F lvfoominn D Simonsgn B lcurson B Burt int Vi Smnclsgn R lsrtrsnirtl R -Xnclrcson lx 'Iraus lfnth Xluimlrr ll1rfdfc'Rou1 R Huffstutltr B Wilkinson ont lwu Xiu I n on Cillu R Wusncr R.
