FLUTE SEC- Electra High Have you ever seen the E, H. S. Band members hold one of their fingers in the air, and wonder what it meant? It is the foundation of the group as it means oneness and unity. The band strives to work together as a group and to develop in each member a sense of responsibility and sportsmanship. Their oneness and unity is partly achieved through the devotional which some mem- ber gives before they leave the Community Center, and the "thanks" they offer for their success. Each member is responsible for thirty minutes practice each day and the attendance of all rehearsals. The Band has participated in Region X Marching, Sightreading and Concert Con- test. They also attended a band- festival at Altus, Oklahoma, to prepare themselves for the Region X Contest, The band also attended Tri-State at Enid, Oklahoma, in April. If the E, H, S, Band did not have the co-operation of the Band Parents Club, Faculty and Administration and the faithfulness of their director, Howard Smith, it would have never been a success, 4' .5 TIONg Cogdell, Jones, Foster, McKinzie, Rogers, Douglas, McLaughin, Hixon, Cambron.
