S gr Our coronation was held in the High School Auditorium the evening ot February 14, 1947. The Valentine theme was carried out in the decorations. "The Talon" Queen was Ioy Winters escorted by Fred L. Speck: Princess Patricia Humphrey had as her escort Kumler Mund, and Duchesses Tinsy Spurgers and Lilla lean Ellington were attended by Iackie Hodges and Earl Dean Clark respectively. The crown bearer was Charles West, and Priscilla Lin- thicum and Iudy Hext were flower girls. The Grade School and High School gave the coronation program which was made up of different types of music, clowning, and acrobatics. They were very consistent in their work and proved to be a great help. They worked hard to keep the locker rooms and equipment clean and in good order. Senior Back and Co-captain. "Whiskey" was our shifty hard running, hard blocking back. His fast thinking, offensive and defensive play earned him a berth on the second all-district team. Senior 'Mac" played hard this year proved he had what it takes for an C2 letters.j Billy Whitley 185 lb. Iunior Back. "Whitley" was a driving mania and was feared by his opponents.
