Spirit Movers If you were to have wandered, one lonely Friday night, to a foot- ball game or some lonely after- noon to a boys' varsity basketball game, you probably would have taken sight of a group of guys and gals in funny maroon and white attire yelling, screaming, and car- rying on. These maniacs, more commonly known as the Pep club or spirit movers were a common sight at just about all varsity boys events, and an eyesore to all the janitors every Wednesday at 2:00 when they gathered in the cafeteria to learn new cheers and jeers under the supervision of Ms. Jackie Hyatt. So, everyone, freshman included, stand up and give them a hand. They certainly have given out enough. Below: The Spirit Movers cheer at the Homecoming assembly. Sun Y oulh Forum The Sun Youth Forum is an organization sponsored by the Las Vegas Sun newspaper in which students meet to discuss world, community, and personal issues. The Sun Youth Forum is held once a year, taking all day. At the end of the day a representative of each group is chosen to give the groups views either on television or in a column of the Las Vegas Sun. Human Relations The words fund raisers, good will, and good deeds should bring to mind the words Human Rela- tions. This group worked to pro- mote human spirit and racial togetherness throughout the year. The meetings which were held on Monday afternoons, were open to everyone regardless of race, color, or creed. During the meetings many things were discussed. Among these were types of fund raisers and, after raising the funds, what charities to donate the funds l0. Organizations 75
