Mock Republican ational Convention Since 1984 was an election year, the Senior Class of E.H.S. divided into the two major political parties, each having a mock convention. The Republican candidates for nomination were: Witt Raymond, Britta Carlson, and Lisa Copball. Witt Ray- mond, with tremendous backing from the conventioneers, was elected as the Republican nominee, choosing Britta Carlson as his running mate. Witt and Britta went on to win the mock election and become the mock President and V. President. The con- vention President was Rod Pena who kept general order and directed the proceedings. The Democratic nominees were: Sonya Varner, Sean McKinney, and Phoung Nga Phan. The votes were close, but Sonya came out on top. Sean McKinney was chosen as her running mate, and although the Republicans won the election, the Democrats were hard working and deserved recognition.
