In Dedzeatzon to Kenneth M Bowers I arrived at Eldorado High School m August of 1973 to find that the staff had been hired but the buildings and grounds were many months away from completion It has been very gratifying to see the growth and progress which has taken place during this period of time This positive change IS due to the great Eldorado High School Student Body and to the very talented and caring staff and administration We are one of the finest schools in the state, especially m the areas of academics, athletlcs and student 3CtlVltl6S I have enjoyed my twelve years at Eldorado High School and the great rapport that I have had with students, staff and other administrators Good luck to all of you in the years to come I m proud to have been here Kenneth M Bowers About 22 years ago, a young country boy came to the bug city This overwhelmed country boy arrlv ed at the big city high school only to fmd a school larger than his entire home town This was a frightening experience to say the least The first person that the country boy met ln the big clty high school was the sophomore counselor That counselor made the young man feel at home and an lmpor tant part of the student body That friendly personal touch made the difference ln the new student's ablhty to integrate into a new school and new environment That counselor was Mr Bowers, and that country boy was me I never forgot that genuine concern, and I have tried, ln all of my years teaching, to follow his exam ple showing that same personal compassion to the students that I have taught Mr Bowers ac comphshments spanning a life time career ln education, are too many to list However, I feel that his most important contribution to education has been his caring love and concern for people Seeing hlm retire saddens me as I will miss hlm as an educator, an administrator, and most importantly as a friend .I L Pomery Sunburst Advisor 0 0 0 9 9 . . . . .. .
