It is a magnificent. Nearly a hundred bandsmen enter the field, marching and playing a rousing song, and accompanying them are the flag twirlers. The flags dip and twirl creating golden spirals and bright ribbons of color that emphasize and dramatize the highlights of the music. This is the function of a flag twirler. But to do that job well, girls on the flag team must spend many hours practicing and drilling. They must learn basic flag maneuvers and basic marching techniques. They must create routines that fit the music which the band has chosen to play, and they must learn to march and twirl their flags while creating ex- citing formations and patterns on the field. The l984-85 Tall Flags Team performed with the band at home football games, at the Clark County Halftime Show Revue and marched with the band at several parades held during the year. He's been tearing up the place for so long looking for his legendary "lost McCarran Mine," we had to practically build a new airport. Dusty Mac is advising people who use the airport where construction is going on and how to best use the facility. The new airport, when completed, will be the talk ot the aviation industry. It is being remodeled, at no cost to local taxpayers, to handle Las Vegas' tremendous growth needs through the year 2000 and beyond., So bear with us and give yourself a little extra time to catch your airplane.
