GILLARD 1925-1971 There is no one who knew him whose life is untouched for his living or for his passing. From this man's suffering each one draws a new appreciation forathe meaning of life, for here was a man who lived life to the fullest - one who enjoyed the pleasures of living in the truest sense, one who could amicably associate with all types of people, enjoy their company and they in turn enjoy his He gave an extraordinary sense to just being alive, thus making his death all the more difficult to PSI' ceive. - from the eulogy of S. F. Giansante Perspective . . . There was a time, once, when all an individual needed to make his mark in the world were a crayon and the innocent smile of youth. The years began to total two, then four, ten. then twelve. and the child grew in his knowledge of the world, his friends, and himself. Each needed more than that gaudy crayon and that won- derful smile to tell the world of all he had discovered. There were hands ever reaching. ever pressing forward. There were sentences - simple ones, sometimes jumhled, always meaningful: and there were actions, expressing more than those eloquent phrases. But most of all there was that smile: trusting, loving, forgiving, expressing what deeds could not do and words dare not try. And with this smile we open the 1972 Revue.
