The El Paso High School Mixed Chorus ended last year on a high note--by receiving a superior rating at state contest.
Despite the rainy weather, a record crowd attended the annual Christmas Concert given by the music department. The theme, "He Brings Peace," was carried out with narration and backdrops. An old-fashioned carol-sing followed in the cafeteria with refreshments for all.

Members of the El Paso A.F.S. chapter again displayed enthusiasm for the many activities planned for the year. The annual smorgasbord was well attended. Other area A.F.S. students were hosted here for an A.F.S. week-end, and Julio appeared before many groups to tell of customs in his native Brazil. The entire student body enjoyed helping Julio discover a new and exciting way of life here in America.
"Thanks to A.F.S., to my American and Brazilian families, to El Paso community and to school faculty and student body, I have learned a lot about United States and American way of life. I hope that each one has learned a bit about Brazil also, so we will have fulfilled the idea of A.F.S., which is a better understanding between all people of the Earth. Thanks for being my friends and for giving me this experience, which means a lot to me. I will never forget United States, El Paso, and you my friends.

UNDERSTANDING THROUGH INVOLVMENT IS the Key Club International theme on which every club in our organization based its year's activities. Through our activities we sought to gain understanding of our club, our community, our nation, our world, and our faith by becoming involved in their basic concepts. The El Paso Key Club was active in over 50 service projects this year. The scope of these activities ranged from a few minutes cleaning the school trophy case to many hundreds of hours working on our Single Service Project, the KEY CLUB YOUTH RECREATION PROGRAM. This project was entered in the competition at the District Convention and received top rating out of a field of over 90 clubs entered. We also won recognition for our ACHIEVEMENT REPORT and brought home a trophy for outstanding work based on the entire year's activities.
The members of the El Paso Key Club wish to thank Mr. Curt Mahaffey and Mr. Robert Hallock for their untiring efforts as ADVISORS this year. Their guidance and assistance were important contributing factors in the success of our club this year.TOP ROW: C. Knepp, C. Duncan, J. Boertlein, T. Carr, H. Harms, W. Berg, D. Kapraun, G. Under the leadership of the advisor, Mr. Jenkins, the F.H.A. completed a very important year. Several boys went on an end-of-the-year trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The Chapter harvested a very good com crop last fall. Another money-making project was selling garden seeds. The F.H.A. co-sponsored the Plowboy Prom with our chapter.
A Father-Son Banquet was held on May 3, and awards were presented to outstanding F.F.A. boys. The boys sponsored a basketball tourney with other F.F.A. chapters, conducted a pest-control contest, and are putting up more road signs. This year's chain gilt went to Reid Simpson.

The 1967 football campaign saw sixty boys, one of the biggest squads ever at E.P.H.S., go out for football. Led by twelve seniors, the Comets football team had nineteen lettermen. Five boys made the All-Conference team.
50LEFT TO RIGHT: Dave Fever, Manager, Curt Knepp, Mike Duffy, Steve Stauter, Les Dunmire, Rick Heiken, Steve Davison, Mike Snyder, Chuck Kearfott, Coach Sullivan.
COACH'S COMMENTS: The rest of the Comets will be back next season and have experience, size, and desire. Les Dunmire, Ken Dressier, and Craig Constant give the team rebounding strength while Mike Snyder, Steve Stauter, Chuck Kearfott and Mike Duffy bring experience. With the help of two or three underclassmen, the team is looking forward to next year.

gave 110% in every game.
