been promoted to private secretaries for a firm of very successful young businessmen. I received a letter from Charlotte Swanson McManaway. Now that she and Marc are millionaires, due to his great success as a dentist, they're moving to Venezuela. She always wanted to go back. I hope they will be happy. She mentioned that she had seen John Osman and Richard Cutright. John owns John's Chevyland and is Richard's chief competitor. Richard owns Fairlaine Haven. A few of our friends own their own companies here in Chicago. Francis Maxwell owns The Maxwell- house Coffee Company. Mike Mankin has his own art school. Sumie Kurachi is the karate instructor at Bill Rincker's Health Resort. Pam Jaycox Loy manages Loy's Hybrid Corn Farm. Carolyn Painter owns the DuPont Paint Company. Linda Van Meter owns a clothing store, specializing in styles for junior pe- tites. Dwight Higgs and Glenn Higgs own Higgs 85 Higgs Used Cars. Did you, by any chance, see where Debby Richeson McDaniel won the Olympic ice-skating champion- ship? She was always a tremendous skater. I phoned to congratulate her, and she told me that Mike Lilley and Lonnie Waymoth are investigators for the F, B. I. They are in the arson division. Wasn't it great, Bill Starr winning the Nobel Peace Prize? And, I'm so anxious for Gary Brummer's new book to be published, He spent ten years of research on pre-marital sex before he wrote one word, John Monnet, James Scott, and Frank Chisler have formed a new cycle club, They call themselves The Heavens's Devils. The Chicago Motor Club is now owned by Gary Koester, Mark Fuesting, Larry Patton and Paul Deters. Our new baseball team--The Purple Sox - may have a chance at the pennant this year with Roger Pagel as manager and those outstanding rookies Jim Phillips, Greg Habbe, Ken Koen- ig, and Delbert Red Morgan. Randy Hakman draws the ads for Heath Ice Cream Bars. Shirley Ziegler Hoene is the first woman ma- rine. Linda Boone Pagel is a WAC. Doris Bowman manufactures bows and arrows, and Judy Buening makes bean bags. Cheryl Henderson sells insurance. Pat, of Pat McWhorter's Salvage Yard, has hired Ronnie Walls, Mike Budde, and John Jackson as chief mechanics. I hear that Kelly Newburn is a chef at Diamonds here in Chicago. When I had dinner there last week, I saw Judy Ricketts, who has traveled over the U. S. as an Evangelist, and Steve Upton. Because of his unique ability to converse, he was a special guest on Johnny Carson's Show. John Hartleroad plays championship hockey with the Red Barons. I wonder if he could beat Mr. Neet? That reminds me, did you know that Richard Poynter is teaching school? He has eight study halls a day. Patsy Ricketts owns a cricket farm. Pam Leith and Donna Nippe work at the Ramada Inn. Don Stuckey is a Methodist minister He and Terry Varner are trying to convert Charles Shelley and Bruce Long. Charles has developed a new formula for shelli beans and Bruce owns a chain of Gulf Filling Stations. Judi Beyer Macklin now lives in Indiana with Ronnie. Judy Loy, Elaine Hirtzel, Sheila Kralman, and Joyce Lilley are airline steward- esses in Chicago for T. W. A. Some of our classmates have been a surprise to me. Many have reached their intended goal. Ihope they are all happy. Maybe during our reunion in five years we will see more changes in the ever suc- cessful Class of '66, Always, Janet
