In Memoriam
The schools of Edwards County suffered a severe
loss with the passing of Mr. Grisham. His pleasant
personality and willingness to serve beyond the call
of duty were qualities which every outstanding
teacher must possess.

In September of 1950, sixty-three green, but eager Freshmen entered the portals
of ECSH to begin their first of four memorable years. When we recovered from
the shock of initiation, we settled down and chose the following officers: Pres.,
Beverly Hortin, Vice-Pres., Phyllis Keener, Sec.-Treas., Pat Conover, Reporter, Eleanor
johnson, Student Council, Jackie Copley. Mr. Bunting and Mr. Hutchinson were our
'lucky sponsors Our candidates for Christmas King and Queen were Dean Mason
and Pat Conover.
We re-entered the next year with the self-assurance of a senior. We elected as
class officers: Pres., Pat Conover, Vice-Pres., Lynn Duncan, Sec.-Treas., Dixie Mitchell,
Reporter, Dean Mason, Student Council, J. B. Ikeler and Marjorie Metcalf. Out
Christmas King and Queen candidates were Edythe Longbons and Larry McManaman.
Mr. Hutchison and Mr. Hortin were our sponsors.
Our third year was an eventful year with our jr.-Sr. Banquet and the Magazine
Sales. We sold 32,265.53 worth of magazines, with Roy Gill as high salesman. We
received our class rings this year after waiting for so long. Our class officers were:
Pres., Dean Mason, Vice-Pres., J. B. Ikeler, Sec., Pat Summerfield, and Treas., Phyllis
Hortin, Student Council, Phyllis Hortin and Roy Gill. Mrs. Kershaw and Mr. Bunting
had the task as our sponsors. Our King and Queen- candidates were Galen McKibben
'and Judy Lambert. Our Class Play, "No'More Homework," was a smash-hit!
Well here we are, Seniors at last! It has seemed like a long time since we first
entered dear old ECSH. But getting down to business, we elected as Pres., J. B. lkelerg
Vice-Pres., Roger Saxeg Sec., Phyllis Keenerg Treas., Margie Dotyg Student Council,
Beverly Hortin, Doyce Sheraden, and Bob Graham. Mr. Grissom and Mrs. Smith did
a wonderful job as our class sponsors. jackie Copley and Charles johnson were out
King and Queen candidates. As our Annual goes to,press, our Senior Play has not
yet been selected. We are now anxiously awaiting the day when we receive our diplo-
mas, after four hard, but memorable years of high school.

We, the SENIOR CLASS of 1954, being of sound mind and a business-like man-
ner, have seriously drawn up our last will and testament to be bequeathed to the
Junior Class whom we hope will live up to the high standards we have set and kept.
I, Evelyn Ahlfeld, will my excessive makeup to Sandra Pitzer and Sharon Duncan.
I, Melvin Bailey, will my shortness and good looks to Lonnie Keener.
