MRS. RUTH L. PENNELL, A.B., A.M., M.B.A. Director of Guidance for Girls Born in New York City. Was graduated from Girls' High School, Boston. Received A.B. from Radcliffe College and A.M. and M.B.A. degrees from Boston University. Studied additional courses at Columbia Uni- versity and University of Maine. Taught in Randolph and Somerville, Massachusetts, and in Dennysville. Flagstaff, and Stratton, Maine prior to coming to Edward Little in 1952. ALFRED N. SAVIGNANO, B.S. Biology and Assistant Coach Born in Newton, Massachusetts. Prepared at Newton High School. Was graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Majored in Physical Education. Coached football at Hampden Academy, and Ellsworth High School. Also taught biology at Ellsworth. Served in the U. S. Marine Corps. Came to Edward Little in 1950. ALEXANDER SOMERVILLE, B.A. English and Biology Born in Glasgow, Scotland. Prepared at Lewiston High School. Went into Navy in 1944. Transferred to Seabeesg discharged in 1946. Served in Pacific theatre. Entered college in 1946. Freshman year at University of Maine. Transferred to Bates College to complete the three remaining years. Was graduated in 1950, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Government. Taught and coached two years at Richmond High School in Richmond, Maine before coming to Edward Little High School in 1953. MRS. ELAINE M. SYLVESTER Secretary to the Principal Born in Harrison. Maine. Prepared at schools in South Paris and Auburn, Maine. Was graduated from Edward Little High School in 1946. Came to Edward Little in 1947, serving as secretary to the Department of Guidance from 1947-1952. CLAYTON D. TAYLOR Woodworking Born in Auburn, Maine. Prepared at Edward Little High School. Was graduated from Wentworth Institute. Attended summer sessions at Gorham State Teachers' College and the University of Maine, and also took extension courses at Bates College. Taught at Webster Junior High School. Served in the Navy during World War Il. He is a member of the stafl' of the Vocational Department. 17

MRS. ANNA B. KENNEDY, B.A., M.A. English Born in Orange, Massachusetts. Prepared at Technical High School, Springfield, Massachusetts. Was grad- uated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Was graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Arts degree. Summer and winter courses at Clark University and Bates College. Before coming to Edward Little in 1930, she taught at Brookfield High School, Brookfield, Massachusetts. Faculty adviser of the Oracle DANIEL W. LOWE Printing Born in Turner, Maine. Prepared at Edward Little High School. Was graduated from Gorham Normal School. Taught in Massachusetts and at Webster Junior High School before becoming a member of the Edward Little staff. Has charge of ushers at graduation, and is buyer for and in charge of the cafeteria at recess. RICHARD GRANT MICHELSEN, B.A. Mrzthemathics and Basketball Coach Born in Stamford, Connecticut. Prepared at Stam- ford High School. Stamford, Connecticut, at Maine Maritime Academy. and was graduated from Colby Col- lege with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Attended University of New Hampshire Summer Sessions, Commissioned oliver U.S.N.R. Taught at Houlton High School from 191-9-1952. Came to Edward Little in 1952. MRS. ELIZABETH PACKARD, B.A. History Born in Auburn, Maine. Prepared at Edward Little High School. Was graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Attended summer sessions at Bates. He taught in Casco, and was principal of Alfred consolidated schools. He is director of guidance for the city, submaster of the high school and lecturer at Bates College. Faculty man- ager of athletics. MISS DOROTHY WELLMAN, B.A. English Born in Lewiston, Maine. Prepared at Edward Little High School. Was graduated from Bates College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Did one year graduate work at Bates College. Attended summer school at the University of Maine. Has taken residence courses at Bates. In 1944, she came to Edward Little from Walton Junior High. Faculty adviser for senior banquet and T. A. B. secretaries, and on the Station Staff. FRANK E. WIMMER, B.A. U. S. History Government and Public Speaking Born in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Prepared at Lisbon Falls High School. Was graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Attended summer sessions at Harvard, University of Maine B. U. extension, and ad- vanced Army School. Extensive teaching experience in New England schools. He previously coached Winter Sports at Webster Junior High School and Edward Little High School. Coaches Golf at Edward Little High School. Faculty adviser and moderator of Junior Town Meeting Radio Show, Student Legislature, and Senior Graduation Speakers. MRS. ETHEL WRIGHT, B.S. Home Economies Born in Augusta, Maine. Was graduated from Cony High School. Received B. S. degree in Home Economics from Farmington State Teachers' College. Has attended summer session at University of Maine.
