MISS GWENDOLYN G. HARDY School Nurse Born in Woolwich, Maine. Prepared at Edward Central Maine General Hospital, Lewiston, Little and Lewiston High School. Attended Maine and received four months' Public Health Training at Simmons College. She was stall' nurse at Lewiston and Auburn Red Cross. She is a member of the Maine State and National Nursing Club. Attended summer sessions at Simmons College 1948, 1949. Instructor of the twelve hour course in Red Cross Home Nursing. CLYDE HATCH., B.A. Biology and Basketball Born in Lowell, Maine. Prepared at Howland High School. Was graduated from Colby Col- lege. Attended two summer sessions at Univer- sity of Maine. Prior to his arrival at Edward Little, he taught at Morse High School, at Bath, and served in the Army Air Force. He is assis- tant coach of football, and the coach of basket- ball. I MRS. JOSEPHINE T. HAYDEN. B.A. English and History Born in River Forest, Illinois. Prepared at Ben- ton Harbor High School, Benton Harbor, Mich- igan. Was graduated from Boston University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Has taught in Evening School in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and has taught English and Science in Newton High School in Massachu- setts. She is a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Co-Chairman of class night. Faculty Adviser of Student Council. GEORGE W. HODSON, B.S. Science and Related Information Born in Burnley, England. Prepared at Camden High School. Attended the University of Maine as Mechanical Engineer for two years. Attended Pennsylvania State College in the summers of 1940-41. Attended Gorham State Teachers' College two years and two summers, 1936 and 1937, 1946 and 1948. Came to Walton Junior High School in 1937. Taught in Augusta in 1938. Retumed to the Auburn school system in 1939. At Maine he was on the rifle team for two years and also on the boxing team. Was president of the Alpha Lambda Beta fraternity at Gorham. Prepared at Casco High School, attended the University of Maine, where he received the Bachelor of Arts degree. Before coming to Edward Little in 1944, he taught at Berwick Academy, Spaulding High School, Rochester, New lflnmpshirc, and Williams Col- lege. Attended summer sessions at Middlebury, Juilliard School of Mu- sic, and Sorbonne, University of Paris, Univer- sity of Maine extension course. Before coming to Edward Little in 1942, she taught at Web- ster Junior High School. She is a member of the Assembly Board, and faculty adviser for senior marching. STEPHEN GRENDA, B.A., M.A. Director of Athletics, Physical Education Head Coach of Football Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Prepared at Lawrence High School. Was graduated from Columbia University where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. Coached at Columbia University, Manhattan College, University of Delaware. Was Director of Athletics at Floyd Bennett Field, and Bat- talion Commandcr at Navy Pre-Flight School in North Carolina. Discharged from the U. S. Navy with grade of Lieutenant. Came to Ed- ward Little in 1946.
