It is here, in a small compartment jammed with radios, radars and odd bits of electronic gear that the ship's combat information is collected, dis- played, evaluated and disseminated. Each man in Combat has a specific job assigned but all are capable of handling any station in CIC from navigation to radio talker to scope operator. The CIC team has a vital role in just about every EDSON mission. On Naval gunfire support missions where the EDSON spent most of her WESTPAC deployment the Combat crew was responsible for plotting our targets and getting the ship into position to fire her guns. At the same time an air and surface search was constantly maintained on the radar scopes for hostile contacts When it came time to refuel or rearm a favorite evolution of everyone on board it was the radar gang who found our unrep ship and got us there The Radarmen can be proud of their place on the EDSON team and the EDSON can be equally proud of her Radarmen i:.2:- RD1 PICKETT JAKE- RD2 GUELDENHAAR EIQRIAFITON RD2 PLANK 6 RD2 TITUS RD3 DEGROOT RD3 LOCK FID3 IVICCARTHY RD3 MEYER RD3 PARKS RDSN LOWELL suv ARMSTRONG Rosn vAi.nEz BRIDGE colvlBAT NO SURFACE coNTAcTs
