The Sonarmen rely upon their skill, and together with the T M's carry out the responsibilities of the ship's entire Anti-Submarine Warfare system. The radar men play amajor part in assuring that the ship quickly and accurately exe- cutes the complex and often radical maneuvers that screening ships are called upon to make, From radio and radar the RDS take information, put it on maneuvering boards or the DRT, and use their skill and training to come up with the course speed, CPA, ETA, Datum position--Whatever information is needed by the conning officer. The ETs maintain the radar and radio equipment which allows the radarmen to per- form their magic. And they lend a hand on most of the electronic equipment on the ship. They are the men who come on the run when you cannot raise Big Boy, or the picture on the scope is out. Together they make a major contribution to the EDSON's operational capability. ..
