1982 Annual The 27th annual Homecoming took place this year on October 8. The tradition consisted of a football game, a dance and a court complete with queen. The 1982 Homecoming Queen is senior Shelly Moran. Her court consisted of fellow classmen Donna Capilla, Kristi Davis. Cathy Jones and Leanne Yunker. Their escorts, provided by the Varsity Club, were seniors Scott Klassa. Dominic Nieto, Mike Ouellette, Pat Ouellette and Darin Simmons. The yearly event also brought two other inter-school competitions to a climax: the banner contest between the clubs and the float contest between the classes. This year the Tri-M Club swept the banner contest and the senior class exhibited the best float. The dance was sponsored by the Senior Class with the theme “We’ve Only Just Begun.” The attendants were entertained by a band entitled Stride. Moran was crowned at half-time of the game by the 1981 Queen, Maureen O’Leary. Huge Success An overflow crowd was on hand at Edsel Ford’s field to enjoy the Homecoming festivities. Both the band and the Thunderettes entertained the crowd for the remainder of the half-time after the crowning. Queen Shelly Moran summed up her feelings concerning Homecoming by stat- ing. “I was very honored to be nominated and especially to win.
