6 Spirit Uleeh Edsel Ford’s traditional Spirit Week festivities took place October 4-8. This year’s activities introduced some new events to Edsel students. These activities included hat day, during which students and teachers alike were encouraged to don their favorite derby or Stetson; what you want to be when you grow up day. which populated Edsel’s halls with future doctor’s, lawyers, and gourmet chefs: favorite Hollywood actor or actress day: Scarlett O’Hara, John Wayne, and Humphrey Bogart were reborn through the creativity and imagination of Edsel’s students. Cuddles day brought out the little kid that dwells within each high school student. Edsel’s student body relived childhood memories by toting around their favorite stuffed animal. Black and White day, which ended the week, was the usual rousing success. A tug of war between the classes was held October 6. This usually smooth-running event was marred by controversy this year. The seniors apparently took the victory, then, weeks iater, the freshmen class announced that they were the actual winners. The seniors claimed that the freshmen had illegally recruited sophmores and juniors for their winning team, thus disqualifying them from the competition. “Of course the seniors won. because they are superior,” explained Senior Class President Steve Bomyasz. 0MRB9RN mHIBAIf
