Data processing, record keeping and bookkeeping are also available to the student who has an interest in business administration. 21 Humanities Program Offers Three Perspectives Miss Cautreau Mr Brown Mrs Barnett Mr Holtgrieve Miss Kovatch The main aim of Edsel Ford's English Humanities program is to induce every student to communicate by introducing him to the media of literature, art and music, while viewing the world through various artists. The arrangement of the humanities program is such that students have three days a week for English and one day each for music and art The English classes stress both literary style and the idea contained in each selection, which may be the work of a novelist, a poet, a short-story writer, or a playwright In the art and music humanities courses, students first study the work of masters, then try to apply these observations to the problems facing them in their own work, whether it's a theme, a sculpture or a wooden spoon. As a result of these experiences, Edsel Ford students are better able to participate in broader types of artistic expression Do You Speak Francais, Espanol et Deutch ? Their many varied projects helped promote school spirit and create a feeling of belonging for all students. As usual, the. Student Council was responsible for the planning of all Homecoming activities, a very in- volved but rewarding job To start a tradition this year, members created Spirit Week. During the week of Homecoming, students participated in such activities as a tug-of-war between grades, a Fifties Day, and a Baby Picture Contest. One of the student council's projects was particularly outstanding During the Christmas season, members be- came concerned with the fact that, because of Michigan's financial sit- uation, some students at Edsel would be doing without a Christmas dinner. Therefore, a project of making food baskets was decided upon The 10th, 11th and 12th grades all collected money and then the council used it to buy traditional Christmas dinner good- ies for needy students in each grade With the help of Mr Faull, these students were determined and names were kept anonymous, Mr Faull delivered the dinners personally The Student Council was proud that so many students were eager to help fellow classmates in a time of need and they hope that future projects will be equally successful Stacy Strongman Kick Kerstein Sue Woronchak Nancy Park Christa Seelof President Vice-President Secretary Secretary Treasurer THIS PAGE, TOP-This year's student council BOTTOM LEFT-Members discuss future projects. Karl 66 The Edsel Ford FLIGHT is unique from other high school annuals because it is a totally student prepared book. Students perform all layout, photographic, paste-up. and typesetting duties. The only profes- sional assistance is in the senior and underclass portraits. The staff of the 1981 FLIGHT is proud to distribute a yearbook that is entirely student produced. For the fourth year in a row, the FLIGHT has had a color introductory section. For the second consecutive year, the senior section features color. Additionally, a color sports section has been included. The staff of the FLIGHT would like to thank the following people for their assistance on the book: Mr. Jim Risto. who assisted on photography; Mr. Brad McFarlin and Mr. Robert Filisko. who helped with color photography in the sports section: Mr. Webb, of Dearborn High School, who aided in typesetting of under- class names: and. most of all. Mrs. Lindsay, for her overall guidance and patience. The yearbook staff would like to apologize for any errors in the index. The index is compiled under great pressure and time limitations, so it is possible that the page numbers for some people may be wrong or that some people who appear on a page aren't listed. This is strictly uninten- tional and. again, we apologize for I any errors. Homcmaklng Bocskay. Carol 31 Bodcnmiller.
