He has the job of selecting and supervising the large staff of teachers at our school. Working with staff members, teachers, parents and citizens, and central administration to bring about the goal of giving every student the best possible education is Mr. Lawski's most important job. Mr. Lawski sums up his job by saying, To see that the school runs as a well-knit, co-operative communi- ty in which every student and every stall member plays an active part and in which they all feel a sense of pride, is our oal. M5 Lawski received his BA degree at Michigan State Normal, and received his Masters' Degree at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His first teaching assignment was at Clarenceville School in Farming- ton, Michigan, where he later became principal. He came to Edison Junior High School in 1936, where he taught social studies and guidance. After his stay at Edison, he was claimed by Dearborn High School. There, he taught social studies and psychology. Later he became assistant in curriculum to Mr. Mills, assistant super- intendent in charge of the community college and high schools. He was then appointed to the chairmanship of the original Edsel Ford High School curriculum planning group. Because of this chairmanship, he was chosen to be principal of Edsel Ford High School. 6
