Follow the light wherever it shall lead for there is beauty and knowledge in the path of the Guiding Light. Edsel Fords faculty serves as a guiding light to school. Throu h the guiding hand of the faculty the students are introduced to an understanding once unknown to them. The purpose of the faculty is to enlighten the students as to what is si1nilicant and important. They emphasize greatly the main points of any chosen held and leave in the shadows only that which is insignificant to the student. After three years of acting as a Guiding Li ht the faculty sends t-he students on their way, hoping that the light they have cast on the future of their students is brilliant enough to enable them to carry on independently. Mr. Anthony J. Lowski Mr. Lawski, as principal of our school, has the responsibility for the over-all program. He sees that the program is carried out, and that proper improvements are made. He has the job of selecting and supervising the large staff of teachers at our school. Working with staff members, teachers, parents and citizens, and central administration to bring about the goal of giving every student the best possible education is Mr. Lawski's most important job. Mr. Lawski sums up his job by saying, To see that the school runs as a well-knit, co-operative communi- ty in which every student and every stall member plays an active part and in which they all feel a sense of pride, is our oal. M5 Lawski received his BA degree at Michigan State Normal, and received his Masters' Degree at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His first teaching assignment was at Clarenceville School in Farming- ton, Michigan, where he later became principal. He came to Edison Junior High School in 1936, where he taught social studies and guidance. After his stay at Edison, he was claimed by Dearborn High School. There, he taught social studies and psychology. Later he became assistant in curriculum to Mr. Mills, assistant super- intendent in charge of the community college and high schools. He was then appointed to the chairmanship of the original Edsel Ford High School curriculum planning group. Because of this chairmanship, he was chosen to be principal of Edsel Ford High School. 6
