t 'ts Industrial Dept. Edsel Ford's industrial education program is elec- tive. The courses in this subject are of a general educa- tional nature and can be elected by a student at any grade level. However, it is necessary for the student to follow the planned sequence of courses. As a stu- dent follows the sequence of courses in any area, the courses become more- vocational. The final course in most areas is of two hours duration, and is definitely vocational in nature. There are six fields of industrial education at Edsel Ford High School. They are drafting, printing, wood- work, metalwork. autoshop, and a course dealing with electricity. The first course in all the areas is very general in nature. These courses are planned to give the students an opportunity to become more familiar with the common tools, procedures, and skills they will need in every day life. n l O fn 'mi f ' 'fllrr 'o ,l'IlIfl+ ' 9 Il ', , s'l,' , Q f Q f V f ff 4 f ff 1,2 at ,. f, - - 'rw-'4-.frwi , .5 E. J R ,,, Behind The Scenes Edsel Ford's kitchen staff tries to teach the students what constitutes a proper diet. They also strive to give the students something different than their home diet. The kitchen itself might be considered a school, for the staff tries to teach women from different areas the use of dif- ferent implements and the essentials of a proper diet. Secretarial work is done in the office. Also, lost articles are turned in there, schedules are made out, all telephone calls are received and the bulletins are made out there. Edsel Ford's maintenance staff keeps the school look- ing clean, and keeps the yard neat. wi, 525' , 13' ri ' f - 5 it new ' 'V X is ...f- Mrs. Anne Bavier, Mrs. Wanda Huska, Mrs. Nell Richardson.
