Complete econcl Year Mr. William Young Mr. William Young. assistant principal in charge of student per- sonnel work. has a variety of duties that are all connected with the students. Enforcement of school policy. rules, and discipline is one of Mr. Young's biggest jobs. He also takes care of the attendance and the tardiness of all students. Scheduling at the start of each new semester is another of Mr. Young's biggest responsibilities. He also works with the bus company on the bus schedule. He checks the athletic eligibility of all boys that go out for sports. Mr. Young works closely with the various grade level teachers on their organization and also on student cumulative records. a.tendance records. and scholarships. He hlls Ollt college transcripts and sets up testing programs. 1-sq I E l is -iv'-in-P'-,nun gi iggu--I 11 gill?-' i - Mr. Willard Thornley Assistant principal in charge of general building management and school affairs is Mr. Willard Thornley. He also serves as the Student Council sponsor. After receiving his MA at the University of Michigan. he taught at Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores. Mich- igan. He then came to Dearborn and tatlght science and math- ematics at Edison .lunior High School. Leaving Edison to teach physics and photography at Dear- born High. he became a member of the original group of teachers planning Edsel Ford's curriculum. He was appointed to the assistant principalship of Edsel Ford and. besides his work on the curriculum, he assumed the responsibility of equipping the school. ln whatever spare time he has. Mr. Thornley spends ii with his hobbies which are fishing. hunting. and photography, 13

IQ-ngyn, lxlr. Anthony LawSl2i Mr. Anthony J. Lawski. principal of Edsel Ford High School, has the responsibility of the over-all supervision of the school. He feels that his number one job is to keep on improving the educational program. Mr. Lawski thinks that his second most important job is to constantly strive to create good morale and a community spirit among the students as well as a good education. He also wants the students to gain more and more responsibility so that the Student Council. along with the students. can take over the responsibility of governing themselves. Most of Mr. l.awski's time is taken up in staff meetings with the Board of Education and the faculty. He also listens to parent-student-teacher problems. Budget preparation, athletics. relations with the colleges and accrediting organizations. office personnel. and office supervision also come under the direction of Mr. Lawslti. I2 Principa S
