Harriers Vie in Varsity Edn:1ondson's first varsity track team, under the supervision of Coach Elliott and assisted by Coach Ron Siegert, got off to a flying start with victories over McDonogh and Mervo Tech on the Indians' oval. Each meet was decided by an overwhelming score. In spite of the soft condition of the track, good times were recorded in both meets. This was the result of hard work on the part of all involved. The squad, bolstered by a goodly number of veterans, stands as a threat to their opponents. A successful season appears to be in store for the varsity harriers this season. Strong points of the team are in the dashes, relay team, and high jump. Leading jumper for the squad is Bill Howard who also runs hurdles and pole-vaults. OFF AND RUNNING are Bredenherg, Kittel, Blow, and R. Cunningham. x Jf 0 ...L - X l .I , i . I X ' ff ,ctw AW 1 A f- tx ,A 1, V .v,,. -1. In s L I ' ,.,- , ,-,. ls' A R- x r! ,, .vin-14., 5 .
