Row Three-Richard jones, Ed Taylor, Bob Gordon, jerry Reese, Rick Johnson, Mr. Elliott. Rafferty Paces First Varsity Paced by 5'7 .lim Rafferty, Edmondson's first varsity quintet made a more impressive showing than the record indicates. The tribe's only two league victories came at the expense of last place Forest Park. The outstanding tilts of the season were with the Loyola Dons and the Carver Cubs. Nearing the end of the game at Carver, the Redskins were down by one. With four remain- ing seconds, jim Rafferty came close to pulling the game out of the fire with one of his deadly set shots. In the Loyola tilt the Redmen over- came a 13 point deficit in the third quarter to come within one point of tying the defending MSA champions. In the end, the Dons pulled it out by a 64-56 score. The Redmen defeated three of their non- league opponents: Boys Latin, Mervo, and Gil- man. Earl Miller tallied a record high of 29 points against Gilman to lead the Tribe. Jim Rafferty led the squad with 258 points for the year and ended the season with a 14.3 point average. Booters in Eventful Season JV Booters ended their '58 season with an overall slate of 3-7-l. This record placed the tribe in the sixth slot of the public school league. Gary Krauss, the outside right position on the line, led the Redskins with three goals. Pete Hondroulis, Charles Thompson, and Harold Schwab all added one goal for the team. Tom Riggin, the goalie, also turned in an outstanding performance for the hooters. The sixth-place kickers tallied seven times during the year, while their triumphant enemies scored seventeen times. According to Coach lllilliam Mullineaux, the team showed steady improvement over last year, but next year, for better results, more manpower will be needed as the team enters varsity compe- t1t1OH. PUTTING THEIR HEADS TO GOOD USE are Redskin booters Charles Thompson and Albert Gouldin.
