tu tonsmucrxow , , I Mmmmmmmm! It smells good! we often say x 1 L as we walk by the cooking rooms. Practicing the skills learned in our home economics classes, four junior girls won second place in the Seventeen table-setting contest. If you need a new dress, make it is the slogan of our ambitious girls. The boys in our industrial arts department learn skills in printing, and designing or build- ing many useful objects. After sitting on hard chairs through math, Eng- lish, physics, or French, we are glad to get to gym to stretch our muscles or to plunge into the pool. Using our new baseball diamond, the football, lacrosse, and soccer fields as well as our gym and pool, many students developed new skills and muscles. Our art and music departments add a delight- ful touch to our school life. Many of our talented students take music major or band, but all enjoy singing or listening to music during music minor periods. Edmondson's Roualts and Rembrandts create beautiful paintings, sculptures, and models. THE NEW LOOK can be achieved easily and inexpensively if you know how to sew like Grace Ritenour, Mattie Williams, Audrey Freedenburg, Rose Wright, and Coralee Keil. Food for IS IT GREENWICH VILLAGE? The leftbank of Paris? No, it is just Mrs. Timmons's art room where Ron Crouthamel, Vida Misiunas, Keith Bell, and Charlotte Gundersdorff are working. f uw. if 8

Leaning on the telephone stand or over the soda fountain, we engage in our favorite occupa- tion, talking. Mlhenever we apply for a job or try to sell ads for the yearbook, we get better results if we use correct English and have confidence in our speaking ability. YVherever we go, at home. at school, or at work, we have many things to write and to say. To have a good command ol' the English language, we studied the fundamen- tals of grammar, American and English litera- ture, and creative writing. A course in journalism is also offered. A knowledge of other languages as well as our own is necessary to understand our neighbors and to create peaceful relations in the world. Every day the world becomes smaller and smaller, and the world's peoples are thrown into closer contact with each other. Latin, the basis of the Romance languages, and German, Spanish, and French are offered to Edmondson's linguists. At a fall meeting of the PTA, four language classes gave a demonstration lesson to the parents. Eager football fans with big appetites keep Charles Miller, Mr. Norton and ames Smith busy Thought VV'hether in school, at home, or on a date we eat-eat-eat. In school, we had only thirty min- utes for lunch because of the new study period in effect during the last fifteen minutes of every per- iod. This set-up was unpopular with slow eaters and students who liked to relax at lunch time, but it did provide study time for those who wanted to take advantage of it. Our cafeteria looked as clean and sparkling at the end of the day as it did the first period because students cleaned off their tables and had them checked before leaving the cafeteria. As the year flew by, we watched the bulletin board in the cafeteria for news of our coming games, dances, or year activities. XVe not only ate in our cafeteria, but we also attended classes there during the first, second and seventh periods, bought supplies from the school store, and danced at night in our transformed ballroom, CHOW TIME Vit '5 1 N 9
