Earning money was, as in many other organizations, a prob- lem that was overcome by the operation ot concession stands at athletic events. Funds were needed for editor's pins and for the banquet. To be eligible tor Quill and Scroll, a candidate must be a member of student publications and a iunior or senior in the upper third ot his class scholastically. He must have done superior writing, editing, or business managinq in connec- tion with student publications: and he must be recom- mended by the adviser. The Homer Post chapter of Edmonds Quill and Scroll, was named in honor ot Mr. Post in i936 when he was inter- national president ot Quill and Scroll. He served many years as adviser ot the Lincoln High School News at Tacoma and has been prominent nationally in student iournalistic activities. ln addition to his many other activities, he worked as part-time copy chief ot a Tacoma daily. Members of Quill and Scroll were - top row: Rene Smith, president: Barrett Worthington, vice-president: Roger Van Parys, secretary: Carin Fenton, treasurer: Dick Curry. Bottom row: Mary Alice Brown, Phyllis Henning, Gary Lee, Sue Madden. Mia Mudge, and Gail Thompson. 3. as 29 I Qene Smith Eaffett Wcr'n'ng':n Roger Van Paws 'S IQ i rn.
